Academic Eligibility for MBBS
Admission to MBBS courses in India follows strict eligibility criteria set by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and respective medical institutions. These criteria ensure candidates have the necessary academic background and qualifications to pursue medical education.
Academic Eligibility
Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination or equivalent from a recognized board. Mandatory Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology are compulsory subjects in the qualifying examination. Minimum Marks: Candidates must secure at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology taken together. For candidates belonging to SC, ST, and OBC categories, a relaxation of 5% is applicable, making it 40% aggregate. Entrance Examination
NEET-UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – Undergraduate): This is the single, nationwide entrance exam for admission to MBBS courses across India, including government and private medical colleges. Admission to MBBS is strictly based on NEET-UG scores and merit.
